Low compression pistons and check engine light???
Just wondering if anyone ever got a CEL for having some low comp pistons in their car. Cuz I just started my car and my CEL is throwing codes of 71, 72 and 73 which is misfire detected in cylinders 1, 2, and 3. One of the reasons is it says it may be cause by low comp. Just wondering if that may be the reason so I can try to narrow it down to what it could be cuz their are several other reasons also that may cause it.
Why do you have lower compression pistons in there? I'm hoping it's boosted....
If it's not boosted and you're still running those pistons, it may not be firing the plugs.

Well I started the car w/out the turbo just to see if it was able to start and run ok. So what you are saying is that it might me be due to the lower comp pistons the cylinders are misfiring?
i have never heard of that happening. I ran N/A with 9:1's for roughly 1000 miles and never threw that code. Something else is wrong.

Ive had a honda tech tell me misfiring could be plugs and some ase certified asians. It might not be though its bothering me and I did make a thread and pretty much got no help. Thats why i budded into this one a lil bit.
Ok guys, my car has been running fine for about 200 miles w/ no check engine light. But it just came on again this time it says all cylinders are mis-firing. The car sounds fine and runs and idles smooth. Should I be concerned? Do you guys think it is because of the lower compression pistons its miss firing and is it related to the gapping of the spark plugs? Please help and give me some suggestions on what to do. Thanks.
Nobody has any suggestions of what else I can do to troubleshoot this?? I already see that some people have run low compression pistons and no check engine light came on so what else can I do to try to figure this out??
