Yes, I installed a 2-1/2" ID x 2-3/8" OD B pipe adapter on Darth VadeR's ITR a couple of weeks ago. He has the Toda header with the Tanabe 60mm (2.36")exhaust and a CarSound 94006 cat. The Tanabe has a 2" OD x 2" long bottle neck right at the B pipe. Here is his before and after dyno runs. Now I believe the 174.9 peak HP run was made with some extra tuning. His first run on the dyno showed about a 4HP (172) peak gain with the adapter prior to tuning. Also, I want to point out that these runs were on different days.

Running a test pipe and stock exhaust, I removed the b-pipe and muffler and gained 4 WHP pretty much accross the whole band. This was on the same day about 5 min apart.
When I installed my JDM I noticed this. I have the same cat, and the reduction is pretty obviously a bottleneck. So I was thinking about getting a cat back or modifying the b-pipe to get rid of that reduction (which is there because the stock cat is a smaller diameter).
Good info

the bottle neck promotes the cat working well. yes it created more back pressure for the cat. if you can get rid of it, do it, you may see a couple of ponies worth on the dyno. if you remove the caat however, thats a different story.

Here's the current setup-
Toda header
Tanabe Racing Medallion exhaust
SMSP bottleneck adapter
Apex-i V-afc (VTEC at 5200rpm)
AEM cai
Needless to say I am extremely excited with the recent plot and am very much anticipating further tuning with the Toda B valvetrain. I anticipate having the installation complete and semi-tuned by early September...
Thanks again to Dave (SMSP) for both the install and the opportunity to try the adapter out. I highly recommend him to anyone that's looking for advice on improving their car's flow
