Default YCU Dyno Comparison: XLR8 V1 J-Pipe w/ RV6 Test Pipe vs. XLR8 V2 J-Pipe

Hello Everyone,
Here at YCU Dyno Tuning Specialist, we had a customer come to us with a 2004 Accord EX 6-6 Coupe. For those of you that do not know what 6-6 means; that means that the car is a V6 with a six speed manual transmission. The car has the J30A4 engine with the following mods: AEM V2 CAI, Borla Catback Exhaust, V1 XLR8 J-Pipe with RV6 Test Pipe.

The car was brought to us to do a dyno comparison between the V1 XLR8 J-Pipe with RV6 Test pipe vs. the V2 XLR8 J-Pipe which deletes the 3rd cat. Originally it was supposed to be a stock J-pipe/cat vs. the V2 XLR8 J-Pipe but the owner was surprised to find that my car had the V1 XLR8 J-Pipe with RV6 Test Pipe already installed. Below is a picture showing both the V1 XLR8 J-Pipe with RV6 Test Pipe on the left and the V2 XLR8 J-Pipe on the right.

The testing conditions were carefully monitored while doing the comparison. All dyno pulls were done on the same day and on our in-house Mustang MD-500SE Dynamometer. At the start of each pull the following temperatures were sought out to be consistent as possible: Coolant, Intake Air, and Shop Temperature. The engine coolant temperature was 180 degrees at the start of each pull. Intake Air Temperatures were harder to maintain but were in the high 60s to low 70s. The shop temperature was averaging about 69 degrees, and this was controlled by opening the bay door when temperatures neared 72 degrees and shutting the bay door when temperatures were dropping to 65 degrees.

After the install the initial results were the following.
XLR8 V2: 222.416 whp 188.071 wtq
XLR8 V1 with RV6 Test Pipe: 215.371 whp 180.825 wtq
Gains: 7.045 whp 7.246 wtq
After resetting the ecu and giving it time to recalibrate itself for the installation of the V2 XLR8 J-Pipe, we found our peak average results. Now here are the final results with the chart below.
XLR8 V2: 225.769 whp 189.962 wtq
XLR8 V1 with RV6 Test Pipe: 215.371 whp 180.825 wtq
Gains: 10.398 whp 9.137 wtq

Overall besides having the dyno numbers proving that it gained power, the owner said that he totally feels the difference when driving the car. We would recommend the XLR8 V2 J-Pipe to anyone with a 03-07 Accord V6 or 04-08 Acura TL especially if you still have the stock j–pipe and cat. If the XLR8 V2 J-Pipe is out of your price range look for any aftermarket J-pipe to replace the stock one. The car responds so much better with the stock J-Pipe and 3rd cat deleted.

you want to sell the V1 XLR8 J-Pipe with the test pipe?

and you meant to say it responds better with a jpipe and third cat delete?
