For those of you who have driven with the 195/55-15 RE010 tires (like the ones that come on the car), how many miles have you gotten to a set of tires from the time they're new until they're worn down to the treadbars?

 

I'd say 15,000 with 15 Auto X's on them.

95% highway, I have 21,000 on mine and they're fine. I love them.

I got 13,200 on mine. For some reason the inside of the tires wore more than the rest. Acura told me that the rear tires wear more on the inside on the type-r and that the NSX has the same issue. Probably BS. I put RE730s at 205-50-15.

 

The rear wheels have a bigger negative camber, 45 minutes or so. Front camber is 30 minutes. That's why rear tires wear faster at the inside.

I got about 8000 out of mine, with about 10 autocrosses (2 on a concrete lot) and about 90 minutes of track time. They were at the wear bars, but not cording or chunked in any weird ways.

 

About 12,000 miles out of mine, before they had to be put down! RIP

 

12K here also, and they were nearly bald - well into the wear indicators, but still had visible tread.

I only got 7000 miles on them, with 10 AutoX, 5 track days .... the outside of the tires were chunked in terrible shape

I just replace them with the new Falken Azenis 205/50/15.......and I love the Falken better

 

Actually, on the NSX, it's the front tires that have that issue, due to the front end's alignment, with toe-out and negative camber, as noted in the NSX FAQ.

 

ITR comes from the factory with negative camber, so the insides do wear quick. My 010s wore on the inside first, but a good rotation schedule will keep them alive longer. Since you can't rotate them to the back on the NSX, you have to live with the wear. The tires are soft and grip well, you can't expect them to last a long time too.

 

20k with a couple of events and counting

 

14K with about 5 Autocross events and auto-x alignment (toe out in front)

 

same as D.... 10K out of mine. the way i look at it if you get much more than that, you aren't driving hard enough.

 

3,000 miles - blowout on the freeway

 

I got 5800 miles on my set.. City Driving..

 

I got 8k of really hard street driving and 3 autocrosses.

 

28,xxx miles and there was still another 3k or so miles left in them! Oh yeah, this includes approximately 3 or 4 autocrosses and 2 track days

 

7k out of mine - very little highway driving; mostly twisty mountain roads.

 

Wish we had some roads like that around here!

 

About 10K miles but 4 track events!

I'll guess a track day will count as 2K miles...

Question for you pros out there...
I'm planning to switch to Kunho's ESTCA 712 UHP 205 50 15..
They have the 98% grip of the RE010s 20% better wet traction better tread wear (look cooler) and are almost 1/3 the cost of the RE 010s
I don't do any track work with my car..(although i drive as aggressive as a hell bat in heat)
IS this a good move???

 

About 30K and still a few miles left on 'em. No track time, and a lot of highway miles. And yes, the inside shoulders are wearing hella bad.
