Rubbing with 225/45 16 P Zeros on 16*7.5 wheels with 45mm offset?
225/45 16 P Zeros on 16*7.5 wheels with 45mm offset? Anyone have experience with this exact combination? I am thinking of moving to a wider tire, possibly just in front but I am concerned about potential rubbing. Thanks in advance...
225 might be okay in front, but it will *not* fit in the rear w/ +45mm offset. It's a tight sqeeze w/ 50mm offset wheels. Bring the wheels out w/ the 45 will cause the wheels to rub the rear fenders. Of course, you can alway "roll" your fenders to make some room.

Ok, I have a set of spoons 16 x 7 (+45 Offset) and I just put on a set of 215 45-16's and they just BARELY fit, and I also shaved about half of the width of the lip of the fender (sorry about construction of sentence..didn't know how else to word it)
I don't think it will fit.

I have 225/45 16 P Zeros on 16*7 wheels with 50mm offset. I am also 3/4" lower than stock. A little rubbing when wheel is at full lock but it is only an issue when parking.
I don't think you will make it with a 45mm offset.

typer98: did you trim just the back ones or the front too?
norice: did you trim the inside of the fender at all?
I am thinking of using 225/45 16 in front and 205/50 16 in the rear so I am really only concerned about the front.

I did not trim at all. Rubbing only happens at full lock so it is not an issue - if you are at full lock at greater than 5mph, you have other problems.

Once again...
I run a set of 16x8 inch wheels, 225/40 16 rubber. In order to make the works fit, I spent countless hours screwing around with my lathe, a tape measure and a great deal of patience.
I utilize a 3mm spacer; this allows this wheel to fit with no clearance issues.
You may consider taking your wheels to a compotent machinist and having 2mm shaved from the hub. This will also correct your fitiment problem without having to use a spacer.

Impressions, suggestions to those of us shopping for tires for 16x8 wheels?
Thanks.
