correct offset for 16" wheels
I plan of buying some 16 wheels in a couple of months for a 97 civic and I want to know what would be the right offset to get for it. I don't want to get a wheel that sticks out to much. What is the the offset of the stock wheels if anyone knows.
Thanks

You should be fine with 40-45 offset and 205/45/16 tires.
The closer to 45 the better you will be if you are lowered a lot.
I have 40 offset and I had to remove the rubber trim in the rear fender.

I would tend to think that the width of the wheel *might* be a needed dimension for one of us to tell you what you need.

just get 16' x 7 with a 42mm or 45mm offset.
if you get 40mm, you might notice a slight rubbing in the fronts and the rear depending on how low you go.
i have 40 offset on mine, and it rubs a lil with a 2 inch drop.
you'll be happier with a 42mm or 45mm, trust me.
