Default what should i do about my engine? (going to do a swap)

ok, heres the deal, i got a 94 del sol with a d15b7 and a d16y8 head, well my rings are now bad so my car is burning oil. I am 17 and still in high school (well not for long, droping out this summer to work full time, get my ged and start collage) and am working part time working on computers right now, My normall paycheck is about $500-$600 every two weeks. i dont want to re-build my egine because it's a POS. so i'm gona do a swap. here is what i am thinking about doing.

setup #1:
Swap in an f22b $650
drop in an si drans for a D series with an adapter plate $200
hook up a single foger wet nitrous kit and run a 75 shot (already have)

setup #2:
build a panda d16 with the jdm supra pistons and b16a rods $900
drop in an si trans $200
run a dry 75 shot of nitrous (already have)

I am probly going to go with setup one since it is cheaper and the f22 has alot more torque (more torque the Hp) and it's cheaper.

what do you guys think, any other suggestions?

you sure a community college would take you with that wonderful spelling? anyway why dont you just be patient and save your money for a b series or h series. i dont see you makin alot of power with the setup you are planning on running. your rings are probably gone from using nitrous so much

once again, my schooling is a differant topic. i havent shot nitrous on my d15 yet. i like D and F series engines. Bseries are to expensive for me, i am afraid i will blow it up and not be able to aford a new one.

well i dont like the terrapins but i would have to agree with his point of not dropping out and saving for a b series without boost. but i wont pass judgement and i will give u my opinion for the choices that you gave. i would personally say the f22 for the fact that if u r running the nitrous then u more than likely will be going in a straight line only so u will need the torque of the f22 and i think that it would hold a little better under the pressure. i dont think the d16 would last too long and u wouldnt be happy with the power so u would be squeezing the bottle constantly which would prematurely burn the pistons and rings. which will take away from your money for collage and we know u need your edumacation.

If your schooling is a different issue, then why did you go into depth telling us how your going to drop out and stuff. That motor will be the only thing you have to show for yourself once you drop out. Then when it goes bad like your present one, you are going to spend 2 weeks worth of pay fixing it. Stay in school, get a real degree, and graduate from a decent college. Then you will be able to fix that engine with a days pay, and have some left over to move out of your parents house

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

seriously though if you are gonna go f22 bottom end you will get more torque, but i dont see why you just dont save for the B series that has a huge aftermarket for parts and makes more power right off the bat

Bite the bullet and save yourself some money and just pick up a cheap D-series block. If money is your issue than spending any more than the cheapest solution is just foolish. D blocks are like $100 anyway. You could go through a couple of them for the price of your adapter plate.

.....P.S. stay in school. You obviously don't have a lot of time left there. Anyway High School is Cake! You are going to be working the rest of your life so you might as well enjoy what you got now. Sorry, but I just couldn't live with myself if I didn't atleast try to convince you to PROPERLY pursue your education. Good luck either way
