Default Car Wont Start........completly boggled........ :(

Ok, well I finally got my motor back together, and when I go to try to start it, all it does is crank.

I checked:
-spark = good
-fuel delivery = good
-main relay = good
-grounds = good
-distributer = ok i guess but im still gettin spark. Installed correctly.
-CEL = None
I pulled the plugs, and they are covered in fuel.

Compression test = 120, 120, 120, 130 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WTF, im stuck. I have nothing else to check. The motor is new, head just resurfaced, new head gasket, ect ect. ARP studs torqued to 80 lbs.

How in the hell can my compression be so low and so consistant? What am I missing?

Thanks

BTW, I pulled an all nighter searching archives and found nothing that matches my case.

This may sound dumb but you said its a new motor make sure you didnt plug the map sensor into the tps plug and plugged the tps into the map sensor hole.

also let the plugs dry out for a few hours.

just checked that and its fine. I still cant understand the compression numbers. The o-ring on the tester was good too.

If it were off 1 tooth on the timing belt, will compression results come out like the above?

What i would do is check all the plugs and make sure they are all plugged into the correct sensors...did that with a friends car and was stumped for 2 days...then if they are all ook...pull off the valve cover and line up the crank to TDC and check the cams to make sure your good and at TDC...those two checks will only take you about 20-30 minutes to do.... did you check your battery voltage also...i cant really think right now im tried...if i think of anything else ill repost....

I checked all the harness plugs, the timing belt looks off by a tiny bit, but I was assuming it was off because the head has been remilled. I retarded each gear 2 degrees to compensate for that.

my old car used to just crank and would not start and it was b/c i had some water in the gas tank from bad gas or just a leak somewhere. i would put half a bottle of rubbing alcohol in the gas tank and then rock the car for a minute or two and that worked. maybe your lucky and thats it, if not good luck

he could be right, but im kinda of doubting it....does it sound like it has enough battery to turn over? try with a jump...thats probably not it, but its worth a shot if ur stumped
