Hey guys. ok, There is no oil leak at either end of the oil return line, and I only smell oil burning right after letting off from full boost. I had an exhaust leak at the wategate, and then when I fixed it, I didn't smell the oil for a day or so.

This is really wierd.

Could it just be a little oil burning inside the return line from all the excessive heat coming from the motor? or could it be that the turbo bearing is leaking oil? I hope this is nothing . . .

 

open the downpipe and check to see if oil is leaking in there. Possibly buring it through the seal.

 

it's probably the seal on the turbine side of the shaft.

 

If that were the case what would that mean? New turbo? Rebuild this one? It's only like 2 months old!! But, its a turbonetics t3/t4.

 

it probably just need a fresh seal. Its cheap to do. what you need to really think about is why is it happening. Check your oil return line for kinks or some unusal bends.

 

If U were leaking @ the turbine side u would see it in the exhaust, blue smoke.
