Default My Compression Test Results

Just finished doing compression test with the help of my father-in-law. Used the procedure from the c-speedracing web site, with the addition of grounding the spark plugs in the wires to the exhaust manifold to avoid distributor coil destruction ... I wasn't sure if popping the 15A ECU fuse did that, or just prevented fuel from spilling into cylinders. Anyway, enough of that ... on to the results:

Cylinder 1: 228
Cylinder 2: 225
Cylinder 3: 230
Cylinder 4: 230

This is a 95 B18C1 with about 110K miles on it.

Not bad at all. Pretty high actually. You seem to have yourself a good strong motor. Is it all stock?

I have the Injen shorty intake, and an ITR intake cam ... the one with the less aggressive grind.

Motor feels strong ... I would like to mod it some more, but I am not sure if header/exhaust would free up much more power. I am not sure what is holding the car back, I can trap 90mph at the quarter, but the fastest pass was 15.6 before the ITR cam went in.

I have heard with that trap speed I should have a better time.

if you get a header and exhaust that cam will free up a lot of power and let your motor breath better since you have that cam.....

Those are some damn good numbers for a '95 GSR!!!

Actually, the performance specs for a stock GSR is approximately 15.5 @ 90 MPH so I think you're pretty close to that. With that trap speed, your time wouldn't be significantly faster, if you know what I mean.
