Stock B16a turbo dyno run....
Let me start by saying that everybody's opinion of what "stock" means is different.
Here's my definition: Stock sleeves, stock rods & pistons, no headwork, stock valves & springs....
I do however have gsr cams in it.
Anyways, I just got done with doing a tune on a mustang dyno... and we peaked it at 300whp@8k rpm, and 200ft.lbs. (at 11psi)
This is for my stripped down, fiberglass/lexan racecar... that probably weighs in at around... 1850-ish...
I am really pleased with the numbers, and I am excited to see how she runs this weekend... wish me luck...

damn... my b16 is not stock. JE 8.8 to 1 eagle rods blah blah but the head is stock. At 12 lbs my car only made 238 whp on a MD. but on a good note it went a 12.97 at 107.5 last night at the local track. Good luck with your setup it will haul *** in a light chassis. I have a DA and it weighs 2480 with my skinny *** behind the wheel.

well some of your power went to the lower compression. seems like it makes a bit of a diff.
nice numebrs man

8.8:1 in a B16 is where you lost most, that and the b spec turbo. Although I have a friend with a stock B16 and same t3/t04b from the rev hard stage 2 kit that layed down 246whp @ 8psi with stock 2.5" dp, tp, and N1 exhaust. Good times though man.

Re: Stock B16a turbo dyno run.... (Mpir3)
Ive been out of town, sorry fo taking so long to get back to this...
thanks for the postive replies, I was really happy to see the number myself.
As an update, I took it to the track and ran a best of 11.85 @ 118... I had a few low 12 runs too, but I couldnt seem to get a good 60' my best was a 1.9... on slicks.
So I need to work on my 60's because I think that this can do low 11's If I can get the think to launch.
The setup is pretty basic, gsr cams, VictorX mani, 3" dump, hondata, 550s, pwr A/L IC, and a cometic gasket...

absolutely inspiring numbers.
has it been tuned? Man, I can't wait till i get to dip my feet in forced induction this summer! Great numbers once again.

List of mods? Looks like you're running on an W/A IC....I can't see an FMIC on that car (kinda dark pic)
But nice numbers *dyno #'s & 1/4 times*

IMO those are fantastic results that speak volumes for the level of tuning and the size of the turbo used.
300whp @ 11 psi for a small 1600cc motor I am guessing that the turbo is big enough to support 500+ whp I am really surprised the stock rods held more than 250whp without letting go.....makes me wanna boost a B16

Re: Stock B16a turbo dyno run.... (SergEK)
Tuning is the key... Ive got a great group of guys tuning it for me,
(here's a shameless plug for the guys at Payn Technologies ) and on the upside, we havent really pushed it yet, we got to this point in 7 pulls on the dyno.

Re: Stock B16a turbo dyno run.... (SEFI8LOxCivic)
Thanks again Guys...
Tony1- Ive got a couple questions for ya.. I'll IM ya'
The IC is clamped to a cup shaped bracket that has a leg that supports it up from the tranny...
the wastegate setup came from a serious creep problem, since the mani that I have was a POS, it only fed the WG from one runner... so we decided to modify it (cheaper) to allow for better control.... and it worked perfectly...

I figured the tuning was better than some mickey mouse tuner
Maybe you can give us some info on what power levels the stock rods will hold....figuring you can probably go a few more psi I am guessing 350whp? Pretty impressive for a B16 rod.....shot peened?
Question on the wastegate...does it matter that the wastegate is only bleeding from one cyl or is the drag only setup not really affected by that? Figuring for street the bleeding of only one cyl would effect the "pulse" of the exhaust going to the turbine wheel?
Any cost figures or is this a hush hush item as far as X dollars for your particular setup and tuning?
Great job
