Re: Stock B16a turbo dyno run.... (SergEK)
thanks again guys...
As for finding the limits of the stock parts, I dont have a clue as of yet... the torture testing will begin late this season unless something breaks before then.... no the rods heve not been touched... the block has never been disassembled.
the wastegate actually is fed from two places on the manifold now, (the original location, which sucked, and now, there is an additional pipe feeding it from a more centralized location) the pulse to the turbo has very little to do with the wastegate, the real issure was that I was having mad boost creep because of the single runner feed.
As for the money involved, I dont keep track, Im sure somebody with some free time could add it all up and be pretty close.... but I try not to think about it. plus some things I got really good deals on, others I bought used, some I already had, etc... it too tough to keep track...

Thanks....I hear you on the cost thing...the wastegate issue made sense as I was wondering how you could control boost by only venting off one cyl's flow..... but I am sure your new wastegate setup bleeds close to the collector and controls boost better....
I am interested in seeing just how far you push this setup....I think many people have looked past the B16 because of strength issues but maybe it was more improper tuning than actual motor fatigue....Good luck and keep us posted with updates

stock b series can handle roughly 350 whp ....stock!!!!!!!!!(rods, pistons etc) of course you could go higher but things get iffy ..(in terms of lasting )

Re: (turbo craig)
Minor b16 update.
this weekend I managed to run a new best of 11.47 @ 117.5
my 60' s were 1.6x's all day, and 3 out of 4 RTs were .5x's
I am getting used to the car now.... a 10.99 should be possible sooner than I had thought...

Re: (trboCIVICWRX)
NEW UPDATE!
I managed to meet my goal yesterday,
I ran a 10.985 @ 124.68
On a stock block b16... just thought some of you might like to know!
and as a side note, the car is still purring, so I guess that we'll keep pushing her!

Very nice setup. Engine bay looks really functional.
Crazy numbers for a b16 also.
That 300whp is on Payn's dyno? Isn't it a mustang dyno? So if this was dynojet we would see even more then 300whp.

that is correct, these numbers were seen on an MD dyno, so Dynojet numbers would be higher... Also, we have upped the boost slightly since that last dyno session, so I would approximate that the car is closer to 330 on the MD dyno now...
the car weighs about 1900lbs with me in it.
thanks for all of the positive replies, I am also very impressed that the engine can hold all this power, stock.
It just goes to show that *tuning is everthing* and the guys at Payn did a hell of a job with the tuning...
I am hoping to get back out soon, so lets see if we can dive deeper into the 10's...

sorry, I forgot to answer the suspension question.
-z10, Illuminas, skunk2 coilovers (street rates, but they are on backwards, soft front, stiff rear)
limit straps, custom wheelie-bars.
thats it... nothing too special...
