Those with Vis Hood...hoodpins or no hoodpins?
Just got a OEM vis grade A hood,
it fits pretty good, good price too.
it look clean without the pins, but just wondering anyone have problem
with vis' hood without hood pins?
and..any suggestion which hoodpins to get?
are they all pretty much the same? sparco?

i have a vis cf hood on my integra..been running w/out hoodpins for the past year..no trouble.. yet.... but recently I have been thinking about getting them. .even though I think they are ugly.. I don't want my hood flying off while driving and then hitting something or someone..just a law suit waiting to happen
GET PINS. I didn't pay joo all that money for them 20's to have your hood fly up and kill joo.
no hood pins, depends what type of car you have it on, i dont have hood pins on my VIS hood on my integra because it doesnt have the air dams like the civic does to create air to lift the hood. yes i agree that 30 bucks is worth saving 300-400 hundred, but i just havent had a problem, i went well over 100 this weekend, not problem there either.
it depends what 'version' you have.. the first gen. one is kinda flimsy w/the frame cheaply applied on with what looks like glue. i have the v-1 on my delsol and i use hood pins (sparco) and my wife's ek/hb has the v-2 and it's heavy and the hood latch feels waaay stronger than mine, so i decided to not put hood pins on hers.. the diff. between the two are the edges. her's feels smoother (hehe) and kinda rolled (if that made any sense) whereas mine feels much rougher around the edges; kinda like it was cut and not finished..
**if you bought your VIS/CF hood recently 'new', than it is probably gen-2. my hood is about 2yrs old, and it's still holding up well w/hood pin help. but if you are driving hard rally/drag/etc. i would think it would be a good idea anyways..
hope my $.02 helped
