It maybe saved a couple pounds at most. The motor and wiper arms weren't very heavy to begin with. I just didn't like that wiper in the way, especially since I've used it twice. Once accidentally and once when I forgot to bring my brush to brush off the snow.

To beat the topic to death...

I just removed my rear wiper + motor. The only parts you need for a "factory" job (i.e. using factory parts) are:

1. 90301-SR3-000 (Nut/Cap): $19.37
2. Fender washer 1/4" x 1 1/4" or 1/4" x 1 1/2": $0.80
3. Re-use the rubber _Seal_ from the stock wiper set up. (It's the piece that is a giant grommet)
4. Re-use the bolt from the rear motor unit... it screws onto item #1.

So from top to bottom:
top
1. Cap
2. Re-used factory rubber seal
3. Home Depot fender washer
4. Re-used factory bolt.

I think your just better off taking out the spare wheels, tools, and rear lid cover. All together it's about 35 lbs.
