Where did you get your engine? Overall experience with company?
Hey this is sorta like a carry over posting from another discussion.
Where did you guys get your engines and please write what your overall experience was? Was the engine missing parts? did it blow up when you started it? Worn, bad engine? Oh also list the engine you got.

got my engine from garage kwai and it was blown they wouldn't do **** for me. so DO NOT buy an engine from then the'll rip you off.a buddy of mine also got one from them at the same time and he is still having problems w/it
Redshift is where I got mine. Overall experience was pretty good I guess. The guys are all VERY helpful to the point that they actually dropped off the motor, mounts, etc at my house since they missed the pickup date. On the downside they can be slow getting parts in and you have to kind of harass them to keep their attention.
Oh yeah, the engine, I forgot. It was guaranteed to have less than 100,000 miles on it, it was compression-tested (guaranteed) and steam-cleaned before I ever saw it (without my asking), and it had a seven-day startup guarantee.

So far I have bought 3 b16a's form this guy alan at Japan Direct, http://www.hondaengine.com, anyway, Twoo of the engine were perfect and had the S1 trannies on them, then the third had a broken TPS but that was all and it had the YS1 tranny so thats the one I put in. But he offer start up warranty and a six month running warranty. THey also ship to your door
Link didn't work.
I've been looking at Nippon motors since they are the cheapest I've found. Plus I already bought the computer, so I can just order the engine and tranny from them.

Got my 2000 USDM B18C1 engine from http://www.ImportAutoSalvage.com, spoke with Larry who packages all the swaps. He was professional. I sent him the check and two weeks later, I got the engine, everything I needed to make the swap happen and even some misc. parts from a Mitsubishi, and a set of lug nuts. I love the engine, the best part is that it only has 10K miles on it.
oops put a comma at the end, so it's http://www.hondaengine.com sorry bout that.....
I got mine at Nippon. Not bad customer service, but the distributer cap was busted, what could I do?! But atleast i got the downpipe. My buddy got his there and tehre wasn't even a downpipe.
I got my engine from http://www.importautosalvage.com I know about 15 people who have done the same. The shop I use, deals with him all of the time. the company is great. I can not praise them enough. Although it sometimes took a little longer than expected to get my needed parts, they were always more than happy to help out. When my motor came in and the valve cover was cracked, Larry sent me a new one right away. When I needed a different ECU to run, Larry sent one to HASport for me to be reprogramed. When I had any question regarding anything, he would always help or point me in the direction to get the correct answer.
While I am singing praises, let me also praise HASport. No, they do not get motors, but Joe was probably the most helpful person I have run in to in the industry.

got mine at http://www.jeimportperformance.com no problems at all. the car runs great.
How much have you guys been paying for a new engine w/ the misc. parts? And how many miles were on them?
motor was 1300 plus 350 for the chipped ecu. i also had to get a new exhaust because my original one was falling off. it is not cheap but well worth it.
I paid 4K for a 2000 B18C1 with 9K miles on it. It's pretty high but I have no regrets. The motor runs great and I clock 13.5 1/4 mile times all day.
Sohfast is great, but he uses importautosalvage if your on the east coast. no big deal since the both rock.
did anyone ever use http://www.jdm1.com???
I BOUGHT MY MOTOR FROM THERE...Total Nightmare...
