Default How good are you? Name that part =)

Okay, well I'll be doing a Ls/Vtec at end of the month. I have a problem though. Comp crashed, all my saved links are gone. I searched, and have replaced many of them. Now I remember awhile ago, I remember reading a thread that someone had left a little circular part off the vtec head? and Without that part, Vtec will not engage regardless of everything else.

I'm not sure if it is circular, but i remember it was supposedly a very small part in the vtec heads. Without it, vtec will not activate. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? and does anyone have a picture of it? Thanks....

Oil orifice in the block or the one in the middle of the head.

lost motion device? you'll have more trouble than vtec not engaging without them but they are small and circular.

i myself do not have an answer, but i think b19coupe has it. It was also mentioned in a thread, and it was a very tiny item.

I guess it leaves me no choice but to inspect my head to make sure every little part is there. Doh... Anyone have a complete list?

Forgot that I need to give credit to those that deserve it.

The pic is taken from and by Larry of Endyn Technologies as a part of his B20 VTEC buildup.

That oil control orifice in the block is a necessity for all B- motors.

Funny that you mention that b/c Larry specifically says that they like to lube the "s" outta the cams during pre-install.
