Default what is double clutching and heal toe???

i know heal toe is like ur heal is on the brakes and your toe is on the gas. do you shift when you heal toe? or does it mean you brake and accerelate at the same time? WHAT IS DOUBLE CLUTCHING??? and what purpose does it serve?

Yes, you shift when you heel toe...but it's a downshift. You don't accelerate while you're braking, you blip the throttle with your heel while the clutch is in so that you can keep the RPMs high between shifts. If you didn't do this, you'd end up experiencing engine braking, which can upset the balance of the car.

Under braking into a turn you want to apply firm, but stady braking to keep the car from getting squirley (or out of control). If you dont downshift properly you will cause the car to jerk, thus upsetting the smoothness, or balance.

If you pop the clutch while the car is at speed and the engine is at idle, it's like spiking the brake on the front wheels. This is a great way to spin out when you're turning hard

Well Chris beat me to it since I'm working on the dial up connection...but I agree with what he said. Try doing a quick downshift from 3 to 2 at 50 miles per hour and the car will jerk a lot. Repeat this downshift and include a rev match, and the car will remain smooth and jerk-free. You can imagine how jerking your car on a turn at high speeds would not be very good at all...

Seems that heel and toeing has already been well explained... Double clutching, or more accurately double-declutching means to shift using the clutch twice. Once to disengage into neutral and once again to get into gear.

The reason? None anymore that I can think of on our cars. This technique was used in the old days where synchros didn't exist. When we downshift, something has to match the flywheel revs with the engine revs to engage gears. Otherwise, you would get grinding. Double declutching allows you to match the revs exactly in order to change gears. Nice to know and learn, but not necessarily a needed technique anymore. Heel and toeing or at least knowing how to downshift and match revs however, is almost an essential skill to learn if you ever plan to track the car. I would also improve wear on the driveline too...

Double clutching is not necessary anymore, but if you do it your synchros will last longer.......

I recommend the book Going Faster the Art of Race Driving. It is written from the Skip Barber racing school course. It explains everything you need to know about racing.

Are ITR pedals closer than regular Integras? The new M3 pedals are pretty close together - this may be a side effect of the smaller foot space because of the intrusion of the large tranny tunnel.
