Need help with 11" brake upgrade

Ok so I got my ITR caliper to do the 11" upgrade for my car
what side of the caliper bracket do I have to shave down? red side or blue side?
how much material? whats the best way? right now all I can think of is a hand file...which will take forever
You have to grind down on the BLUE side.
Your best bet is to pick up a decent angle grinder. It will save alot of time. Just grind a little at a time, and keep checking for clearance. Put the bracket on and center it between the rotor, and keep grinding if nessecary. You will need to take off about 4mm total. Just take your time, and make sure you take the right amount off, and keep the grinding even.
Here are some pics to help
The blue arrows show where to grind down
The black circles are where you need to grind, right where the big bolts are.

I have itr caliper setup on my car too
he is right on with this.
you could also take it to a machine shop and have it done. i brought mine to a machine shop
once you take off your old calipers, you will see what needs to be changed.

A tip for keeping the grinding on both sides even:
If you can find or have access to one of those shop sanders that has a big disc as well as a belt on one machine, you can use the stops or platforms to rest the bracket against while you grind down both sides of the bracket evenly.

Please ignore me. His way is much easier and logical. I'm not sure why mine were machined down on the inside instead of the outside.
Where oh where have my de novo and logical thought processes gone?

for anyone doing this mod....
bring it to a machine shop
it has to be done to a tight tolerance
i tried doing it by hand with an angle grinder and a digital caliper...got it pretty good
but now I have to do it over again...this time gonna go to machine shop

98-00 calipers are all the same. only jdm 96-97 calipers are gsr size. you use the 98-00 calipers for the 11" upgrade.
