dont do it, changing the oil frequently is much better for your engine, read more at http://www.bobistheoilguy.com

have you seen inside your motor? how do you know its dirty... oh newsflash for those who dont know... the dirty part of the engine is in the combustion chamber...

change the oil on time. that is all the cleaning you need. if you run that crap you will damage VITAL engine bearings, put wear on the rings and possibly the cylinder walls. this will result in mildly increased compression for like... a day and it might feel nice for a few... but the damage that can come into play from running that crap over the bearing surfaces is not worth the risk.

if you want to clean your motor, you can do a couple of things. it sounds stupid...
crank the engine to BDC when hot, remove the spark plugs

fill the spark plug holes with ATF(w/ dextron)
let sit for 24h, siphon it out, hand crank the motor also with a towel over
the holes to get it all out.
install a fresh 1/2 quart of ATF into the engine oil
visibly varify the cylinders are 90% empty, hand cranking the motor
yeilds no more squirting

install the plugs
start the motor
it will smoke... alot, this is the burnoff of the carbon in your exhaust
and the ATF catylizing, along with the excess carbon around your
piston rings and quench area/piston tops.
it will take about 5 miles to get it all out... the car will eventually stop
smoking. once this happens, drive home...

drain the oil, change the filter, reinstall cheap oil drive for 5 miles or
so... drain and fill again with the oil of your choice

the ATF has a mild detergent in it and can damage engine bearings
over time... however it is much... much more mild diluted with
engine oil and much safter to use than engine flush...

I have read about this on a DSM board, it also mentioned having seafoam sucked in through the PCV system. Is this something you would also recommend? I guess I don't exactly see what the point of that part of the process was.

imo, engine flushes arent necessary unless you have something as severe as sludge buildup. regular oil changes should be sufficient.
