Kinda dumb question . . . how to install tach?
i havent recieved it yet, i was just wondering before hand. its a sunpro 3 1/2 inch. and i only got it because my cx doesnt have a tach at all.
I am not sure with sunpro but if it was an autometer I could tell you to a T how to install it. The instructions should tell you how to do it though. Good luck and God Bless!
It should be fairly simply. If it was like mine, I had four wires. One to power, ground, light, and rpm sensor. So, its pretty straight foward. Good luck.
it's totally straight forward. if you have questions, PM my roomate, IDI2IEIAIVIS. He just installed one on his CX like a few weeks ago. Sunpro too.

Well, usually red is ignition, green is tach signal, black is ground, and white is for the light. I'm pretty sure this is it but its been a while since I installed my tach. Run the green (tach signal wire) through the grommet in the firewall on the drivers side and connect it to the harness (I don't know name of it but if you look you will see what I'm talking about. If you want, you can also extend the wire and run it to the distro. Connect red (ignition), to anything that always gets constant power when the car is on, IE: remote wire, dimmer switch, or anything besides the radio. I connected the white wire in my gsr to the cruise control button, so when lights are turned on the tach light turns on, and black is for a good ground. Good luck.
Oh yeah, I just remembered another way how to wire it up if you have a VAFC. Use alligator clips and just tap into the VAFC wires going to the ecu. This is how my hatch is done and tach is perfectly accurate. It was a little easier though since I was running an Apexi VAFC and Apexi tach and the wires matched.
