i finally got it off late last night after driving it around for about an hour. i still had to pull hard as crap to get it out and it finally budged enough to get a good grip on it and get it out. it turns out that some idiot at ups must have saw the silencer out of the muffler section and thought that it broke out or fell out, so there is packaging tape all around the silencer which was holding the silencer inside the muffler along w/ the bolt which i had already taken off. so screw the ups dude or whoever did the tape thing. oh well, its all good now.
Apexi sells a silencer remover tool. I bought mine shortly after finding out how hard it was to try and remove it. Its in the Apexi catalog, so if you have a local shop that sells apexi stuff ask them about ordering one. They're not expencive.

lol.. You should have an allen bit for the screw and washer that holds the silencer in place. For the 2+ yeads I've had my N1 catback on my SI, I've never used the silencer. Keep it off. It just eliminates the gains and sounds better.
Keep the silencer in your trunk just in case 5-O bust *****..
