Default B20 installed and running

I know a lot of people have done this swap, but I just had to put my comments in. I got a 99+ JDM B20 and had it installed here in NH at www.thedropshop.tv Picked it up last night. The first impression was "wow its nice to be able to drive the teg after it sitting in my garage for 4 months". The next impression was,"holy crap it has more torque". The car is definitely a lot more fun to drive now. I am not a hit the redline kinda guy so the loss of power around 6k doesn't bother me. I am taking it on its first real drive today.

I can't really say enough good things about the drop shop. Up here in NH, we don't have many real shops and this one is definitely awesome. I had to wait a month for an appointment, but that was because they were in the process of moving the shop. I dropped it on monday and monday night I got an email that told me what the progress was and a web page that even had pictures! I couldn't believe it! The next day they found one little problem and immediately let me know and what it took to fix it. Wedsday night the engine was in and running, with a check engine light on. They again sent me an email with the status (and called) and let me know I could pick it up early afternoon the next day. They also found a crack in my valve cover. So they repaired it, at no additional cost. The next day we got snow, so I couldn't pick it up so I ended up getting it on Friday. I went to pay for it with my CC and they told me that their CC machine wasn't installed yet. So they let me leave and I am bring a check there on Monday. This was the BEST service I have ever gotten from any kind of mechanic. If you guys up here need anything, I would more than recommend them.

I am using my stock LS ecu, but am getting it chipped on monday. The big difference I think is that it is a JDM motor (99+) so it has the higher compression pistons and everything. I am absolutely loving it.

Jon saw me out driving yesterday and called to see how it was running. Just another example how great the service is.

I had the stock b18 with intake and exhaust. I would say that it is much quicker, but since my car was down for 4 months it could just be from not driving it. When you think that you spend $500+ on an exhaust and I got the engine for $500 I would say it was the best money I have spent on it. Eventually I want to turbo it (only around 6psi), but I will probably take my old block and get it sleeved and bored and use that.

Yeah, B20 = torque....In my opinion, get a vtec head and slap it on your b20 block. Than let us know what ya think.
Have fun!

I was one of the people that got screwed by Osaka only to find out that they screwed themselves by charging me $750 canadian instead of american. I figure we are even since they still haven't sent me the alternator and ps pump they promised me 3 months ago. I am eventually going to build up a motor, its just that my old one died before I had any money for a "real" motor. I will probably add the turbo to the B20 and then get my b18 sleeved and bored to 2L and slap a vtec head on it.
