Default clutch problems

my friends clutch master cylinder went out so he replaced it and now the clutch pedal goes to the floor and the clutch wont engage. What could be the problem?
the car is a 92 civic vx

It helps to have 3 people to do it correctly. Two should be enough, though.

1. attach a hose to the bleeder valve on the slave cylinder
2. put that hose into an empty bottle
3. make sure the fluid is topped off
4. have one person open the valve (10mm open end works good)
5. have one person pump the pedal by hand
6. have the other person keep the fluid level topped off by adding more fluid
-Every 7 pumps or so and the fluid will get too low to properly bleed the system
7. pump until there appears to be no air in the hose and there is normal pressure in the pedal
8. tighten up the bleeder valve
9. top off the fluid and go test it out

madtown-who usually gets stuck bleeding it by himself which takes a long time
