$*@#ing Car......
OK, I just swapped out my b18a for another b18a, (in better condition.) and i had to transfer the tranny and clutch over to the new one. now when i go to start the car, it doesnt click, it doesnt crank over. Im not sure if the clutch pedal depression button isnt enguaging, or something got fuxored in the transfer of the tranny. The car pops starts just fine.
Also, when i finally get the car started, the thing idles really rough, at about 200-300 rpm's, then after about 5 or seconds, the CEL come on. and kicks the idle up to about 1500-2100 depending on the temp of the motor. 2100 when cold, and 1500 when warm. Im not sure, but does this sound like a vacuum problem? i dont have some of the lil hoses that go into the intake tube hooked up. Im not sure if that will do it. at the same time, when the CEL is on, at light-medium throttle, the thing stutters just a lil at about 3g.
There are some other random things like the thermo guage in the car varies alot, but im thinking cuz the motor sat for about 18 months in shitty weather at the yard, the whole system needs a flush. im gonna change the oil and coolant on saturday, as well as the tranny fuild. but anyone else have any ideas on what i should do to re-break this motor in?
your help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
-Nick-
EDIT: well i figured out 2 of the problems. the check engine light no longer comes on, but she idels a lil rough, i have a feeling it has to do with timing.
the thermo guage is working correctly, i had a small coolant leak.

Kinda hard to diagnose a CEL without more info

I just read your other post, and i would say just give thiis post some time, so people can read it tomorrow, so maybe you can get some more helpful input. But as far as your problems with idle, i think you may be right about the vaccuum. usually in alot of cars, rough idle indicats such a problem whether its a vaccuum leack or somethings wrong with the piping. But why is it that you haven't connected all teh hoses? And as far as your thermo guage being off... have you checked the condition of all the sensor harnesses? If your motor was left out to endure the weather conditions, i would say closely examine everything that may have been effected due to such an exposure. But for now... here's a bump.
well thanks. um ill try teh CEL code thing, because its a obd1, is the window on the ecu it self or do i jump it at that connector? The oil was a lil milky, so im assuming there is some water in there.

Milky oil means water which usually means bad head gasket or warped head.
its for my 90. not the 2k1
or the motor got water in it for sitting for ever in the yard with a plug iwre missing? seepage.
