I looked up part numbers for various oil pans and here is what I came up with.

I checked 1997 Civic with 5 speed manual transmission.
-part numbers were different between 1.5 and 1.6

I checked 1995 Civic with 5 speed manual transmission.
-part numbers were the same for 1.5 and 1.6

I checked 1991 Civic with 5 speed manual transmission.
-gave 2 part numbers, but didn't make a reference to which was for 1.5 and which was for 1.6. Seemed odd to me. Just listed both part numbers instead of giving one specific part number for 1.5 and 1.6 like with the other years.

I know this doesn't answer your question, but hopefully will help a bit.

Anybody else got any ideas or know for sure???

I have a DOCH ZC. It was turbocharged, but my turbo blew a seal, this caused me to put my header back on and replace the oil pan because of the oil return. I used a oil pan from a 1990 1.5 Civic DX. It was an exact match. I would assume all D series oil pans are the same.

88-95 oil pans are interchangable for the most part...will bolt up but may have slight issues with exhaust clearance....96-2000 have different bolt pattern due to different oil pump.
