What else to I need to run a safe nitrous setup?
I just bought a used a Nitrous Works system with the NOS solenoids. I want to run 50 shot. It a wet setup. Other than retarding the timing 2 degrees, running colder plugs, and a FPR is there anything else I can do. The motor is an 80K 93 SOHC VTEC. Thanks.
naaaaaaawwwwwwwwwssssss!
anyway , wouldnt you wont to reinforce your bottom end a little , i know mabe at a 50 shot you may not need to but its still a good idea

no matter what you do nitrious is going to be hard on your engine....i think you might be ok with a 50 shot but sooner or later you will have to rebuild it. I mean nos does work your engine hella hard.

Clever and Funny!!
Oh wait, no they're not.
First do a compression and leak down test. If everything is good, a 50 shot will be ok.
How long your motor will last will depend on how responsibly you use the nitrous.
Also make sure you run atleast 91 octane fuel.
Good luck.

just like everything else you can do to a motor it all depends on tuning. build the bottom with some mid-high compression pistons and rods then do some dyno tuning and that thing will run forever for whatever nitrous setup you tune it for. ull just have to keep an eye out for for bearing wear and ring wear. but if you build the bottom end and tune it correctly a 50 shot isnt anything to that motor. thats what im in the process of doing now but with a 75 shot. good luck!
edit: if you keep your bottom end now id be saving for a new one with new bearings just in case

So there is also no such thing as a safe turbocharger or supercharger?!?!?
They all do the same thing:
Get more oxygen into the combustion chamber.
for a proper N2O set up i would recomend (in your case a 50 shot) i would recommend a Fuel Pressue Reg. and of course I/H/E and for your safety.. TUNING!!!! people who dont tune a N2o motor are the ones that break things....anyone agree?
