Default KYB vs. Koni

Justa comparison question:
What is a better combo for the 90-93 accord body style?
Some track...Some drag racing.

KYB AGX with Sportlines, or
Koni (Yellows) with Suspension Techniques

Best over all bang for your buck!

depends on the spring rate and if you are using a coil over setup

Eibach sportlines, no coilovers.

essentially Koni is a better shock because it is rebuildable and can be revalved to handle high spring rates
KYB's wil be fine if you are using a simple setup with relativly low spring rates, and they are less expensive

I am running neuspeed race springs, it can get a little harsh on the shitty midwest roads but all in all I am happy with it.

amazing if i have the rear too........hell yeah i bought front pair for 220; well i dont' know dats a good price or not.

WOW! well as long as it "feel like a race car dawg" then i guess that means they are good and your car will drive like a "race car". seriously, nobody can read your broken english.

depends, do you want a good dependable ride or just want some cool shocks. KYB are OK, not the best quality out there, don't use them if you have too aggressive of a drop, and don't expect them to last that long, now koni yellows on the other hand are monsters and take some abuse, they don't mind being dropped, they can be adjusted a lot stiffer than AGX can, and did I mention they are built like *****. I had a set of yellow on a 300hp Turbo Lude(ok only 298hp to the ground) for almost 3 years and it was dropped pretty far, and no problems at all. the konis just rocked. The guy that bought the lude has since rebuilt the motor(several times) and the konis are still alive and kicking which makes it almost 6 years, and they constantly get adjusted.

they are both good. It depends on what you wanna dish out for your shocks bro.
I personally would get the Koni.. (i also have a 4th gen )
but if money is tight get the KYB's, they are still very nice.

Just the fronts? To bad accords handle (at least from my experenice) way better when you firm up the rear end. Any time i make the front firm at auto-x's the cars handling goes straight to hell and is almost imposable to deal with. I do make them more firm than day to day street driving but then again I ride around on full soft daily. I will never understand those that dont research things, how they work and what they do before they just buy them because they are told to like mindless drones.

AccordVtec-Good choice I am sure you will be happy with them, just be sure to get the external adjustable ones. There are two types out there for the accords and one is a PITA (see has to be off the car basicly) to adjust. Enjoy them

the KYB's will give you the best bang for the buck....the only downside is that they aren't rebuildable like previously stated....

Thanks KCHybrid, much appreciated!

I have ordered the Koni Adjustables with the spring combo. (Susp. Techniques)
I think I will be very happy with the $ I have spent.

Just got in my koni yellows... still waiting on a progress rear sway to come in before I install them. I'll post in a week or two how they feel and how the car handles. Btw, I have sportlines and they rock , they just suck with stock shocks after a while.

neuspeed sport springs with koni yellows(on medium stiffness setting) and my ride is just stiff enough that you can be happy when you drive daily. you can easily notice the handling improvement, and with the neuspeed front upper strut bar and the s/t rear sway bar my car handles like its on rails. i just need to upgrade my tires(need stiffer side walls and little wider, maybe 205-55-15) and i will be set.

btw if you get this combo and leave the perch setting at default, the rear will be lower and it will look ghetto. i learned this the hard way, and ended up taking apart the rear suspension(waste of time)and raising it by 1 perch level and now my ride is 100% even, with 1-2 finger gap.
