It is all coming together. What special tools do I need for the swap?

Default It is all coming together. What special tools do I need for the swap?

I have a basic "mechanic's" tool kit. I know I need to get an engine hoist. I am also adding power steering if that requires special tools.

All of this happens to a 97 dx:
2000 b16a2
5 lug conversion with Si front swaybar, and beaks kit.
adding power steering
replacing suspension
Cleaning the hell out of the garage before the grandparents get back from there vacation...
I think I am adding I/H/E as well.

Can you think of any special tools I am going to need before I begin the process? Looking in the Helms it talks about using a belt tensioner on the various belts. How much does one of those cost? Thanks.

i guess it depends on what a 'basic "mechanic's" tool kit' consists of.
do you have a
torque wrench?
breaker bar?
balljoint remover?
32mm socket for axle nuts?

do you have a
torque wrench? <--Have one
breaker bar? <--No, how much do these run?
balljoint remover? <--No, how much do these run?
32mm socket for axle nuts? <-- read about this in Helms, but I don't have one.
Haha, I got this tool kit for Christmas last year. It is a 200 piece that consists mostly of sockets and such, but it is labeled as "Mechanic's Toolset."

Can I get the parts listed at Autozone? My friend's dad works there; discounts are nice. Also, can you get the Honda brake/power steering fluid there?
If not, know any web sites you would refer me too?

Thanks guys.

power steering fluid u prolly wanna get from the dealer. u can only use genuen honda fluid. a 2 prong puller works great for ball joints. universal joints for socket come in handy. youll want a crowbar with a very thin end on it so i can slide it between the tranny and the halfshaft(axle). a C clamp if your ganna do any thing with the front breaks.

have fun
