Block guard: Waist of money?
Im considering a STR block gaurd for my B20B with stock sleeves.
Its seems that I have read severl stories latly that people are still cracking sleeves with a block gaurd.
Im planning on 10 psi with my B20 (hondata and injectors of coarse)
Is the block gaurd just a wist of $114.99?

No one is going to give you a definate answer. Some say its definately worth it and it doesnt cost much money, other say it is a WASTE becaues it blocks the coolant flow to the upper part of the cylinders. Just do a search and make up your opinion for yourself.
blockguard =
used them on two honda engines that i've turbocharged (D16Y8 and B18C), and never broke/cracked a sleeve. About to use one on my third engine, a B20B.
make sure though that if you get a blockguard for your b20b that the holes in the gasket match up with holes on the blockguard, or else you will definately have overheating problems.
also, if you can, try and get a blockguard that looks like mine.. remember that b20b sleeves usually crack where the cylinders join up. most blockguards don't go to that point of the sleeve, but I had mine made so that it does to help with strength in that area, but at the sacrifice of a smaller than normal water hole. i'm not using a stock radiator, and i have lots of big fans on it, so i should be okay.

IMO its bad detonation that does the damage not the block guard
Detonation is an engine worst nightmare.
Tuning is the key to prolong engine life
But for turbo applications I sleeve the blocks with darton t-top sleeves.
I have a customer that boosted 35psi all summer and still ticking
We will still tear it down and refresh just for safety wise.
