Default Radiator Fan Relocation (pics)

I needed more room for my turbo setup so I changed both my stock fans for universal pusher fans. $60 each and do a great job, they seem to be quite a bit more effective than the stock fans. Working on the turbo is much easier and all my intake piping fits perfectly.

so the advantage of moving your fans is to have more room and it doesn't negatively affect the temp of the car right?

edit: the black box bolted in front your electronic boost controller?

pusher fans are actually better at pushing air through the radiator than a similar puller fan can pull air through. these fans cycle off a lot quicker than the stock fan which would suggest its bring the temp down quicker.

the fan anchors by pushing a kinda zip tie through the core and uses foam pads to prevent damage. I have used these on other projects and they dont seem to cause any damage to the core.

These are actually Autozone, Pepboys were $5 more for exactly the same thing. I know Summit have them also. A few peeps had IMd me asking for the part number so here it is 226112.

Its a very easy install, just remember to reverse the polarity from the factory fans, both are color coded black and blue.

I have the same fans on my civic. Are yours 10" or 12"? I have a 10" on my condenser and 12" on my radiator.

Also, how did u mount your condenser because the brackets on it are on the stock fans.

And pardon my stupidity...but what is this for?

Mine are both 12" 850CFM units, i could have probably used a smaller fan on the A/C condenser but I liked the way the 12" fitted and it cycles off much quicker than the stock unit.

I was going to make a new bracket for the A/C condenser but I ended up mounting it temporarily with a few heavy duty zip-ties and that worked really well. Maybe once i finish my down pipe and I see where everything ends up I may make a bracket.

The line coming off my intercooler goes to the boost controller which is mounted just behind it. Some folks go off the intake piping but this way is cleaner and should give my controller quicker response.

Its basically like a zip tie. You take the mounting accessory and string it through the radiator fins. But it doesnt loop like a ziptie, you have like a "nut: on the other side that secures the tie so it doesnt fall off

They wire straight in to the stock harness, just reverse the polarity. No relays needed.

Hey on your SBC-ID Blitz boost controller did you have a vacuum hose goin from the out side of the black box? Cause i don't see it in the pictures. Just wondering cause i have the same boost controller and have been wondering the correct way to hook it up for quite some time.
