what kind of brakes to look at?
i was wondering what kind of brakes are good out there.
i have stock civic brakes presently.
i have gsr fronts laying in the garage. but trying to sell them,
i want a big brake kit. don't know which one is right for me.
i have drums in the back, and wish not to change them to rear discs.
car is a civic cx with turbo gsr
what stops good and doesn't break the bank? is there anything inbetween gsr brakes and fastbrakes?

you must be very very crazy. You have stock civic brakes with a turbo GSR motor. I have a civic with just a GSR motor and i switched out the brakes as fast as i could. I got the fastbrakes kit and i couldn't be happier. Only problem was it didn't fit the 16inch rota slipstreams that i have. But if you plan on getting brakes don't go half ***. Get some good brakes. It's important every now and then

You do know you can use your stock gsr rotors and upgrade the rotor size and brackets with fastbrakes.com for like 240ish???? It uses what you have and makes it bigger.
Wilwood calipers don't have dust seals in them for all weather driving is goign to take a toll on them with time, aka rebuild's. Just to think about.
But the wilwood kit's, be it wilwood itself, or fastbrakes both lighten up the weight of the braking components big time too!
Those are the only two I have ever looked at I have teh gsr calipers with 11" rotors on the front of mine and a gsr rear brake setup on mine. Haven't opted yet for the 11.4" rear setup from fastbrakes but if I upgrade or need to that will be what I do.
Good Luck

i have a full front rear gsr brakes too.
but i dont' really speed or drive fast in the street to even need brakes.
i would also like to save weight. it doesn't take too much to stop 2000lbs if your only going 50. im just looking for the fronts. not overkill to lock up my wheels. but a perfect match. what else is better than the gsr brakes but not as overkill as the wildwood 4piston.

Just get better brake pads. Hawk HP + will make a very noticable improvement.
