I want everyone to tell me what they think of putting a turbo on a 99 GSR with 50K miles.....tell me everything, good and bad. And if possible, let me know what you paid to get your turbo running perfectly and how much horsepower you gained from it.
I was looking at a Drag 3 Turbo kit, or one from South Florida Performance.

-boost!
-win races
-get jocked
-be feared
-get girls
(j/k)bad:
-blow motor if you boost too much
-problems if not installed right
-you might develop turbo fever
-might participate in illegal races
-might get car impounded
-might get addicted to boost and spend more money

pay for a good setup and proper tuning up front and there aren't any cons. the b18c takes incredibly well to boost and should be really reliable as long as you keep boost to a reasonable 8 psi or so. I wish I had a car
wow that was good , i like that
yea i would go custom , youll end up geting better stuff and might spend less. some of the parts with that kit, youll wanna eventually ditch becuase they are ****.

Everyone summed it up pretty much, all I gotta say is custom setup is the best way to go, logically how can one kit be suited for every car ... everyone is different, even if you take three stock 95 GSR's for example, they'll all run different ..... so if three same year models, same trim level run different, how will a kit cover a span of years, different conditons, modifications, etc etc .... think bout it, get a custom setup done, have someone who's done it before install it, and then dyno tune it, and dont get boost happy...keep your hand off that damn Boost Controller.
When you drive like a normal person with a turbo fuel milage is increased. My friend get 27-30 mpg on his turbo GSR.
A turbo kit has more immediate rewards. Some are better than others, but thery're basically all the same. Piecing together a custom kit MIGHT cost less, but it will take longer to accumulate all the parts, and you better know what you need and I mean everything.

I used to run a turbo manufacturing company called f-max. for info concerning turbo kits go to f-max.com. as for the pros there is a lot of power to be had. and the cons u can blow up easily. do the research an integra w/ 50gs on it should do fine for a couple of years. after that the motor should be pretty worn out.

pros:
faster car
boost
beat other cars
your friends envy you/beat your friends
might win you some money
cons:
cost
increased chance of theft/thieves might be after your car
you could blow your motor
added wear/stress on motor
must be religious w/ maintenance (not that you shouldn't be otherwise)
depending on setup might be hard to pass visual/smog check
