I have 300 dollars to spend on 6 1/2 components
I'm deciding on MB Quart Qseries (Not the QM which is $500)or Diamond Hex S600s.
Anyone have any other suggestions as of what i should try. No Focal or Infinity Kappa Reference. I want to try something that my friends haven't had yet. I'm looking for loud highs that have little to no distortion. I plan on running a sub or two in the future.
TIA

how much power, what car, and where are you installing them?
Don't even think about the HEX's unless you have an honest 100W. I used to own them, and with out a lot of power, the midbass is thin. I chose them over the MBQ Qseries.
If you want to be really different, I know where to get some Illusion ND6.1 components...talk about hard to find. I think that Impossible Bill said a few days/a week or so ago that he had the old German built by Eton Diamond Hex components...those would slaughter the new ones, although they are much bigger drivers....something to think about.

These speakers sound great. They give out great mid-bass, Mid's, High's and sound great when played loud. Very clear, with practically no distortion. For the price, i think they are great. I never get any distortion out of my speakers at any volume and they are the TR series.... i just wished i had an amp! If you get the XR's you need to to give them atleast 70wRMS, but do not go over 150wRMS. They will sound great. This site is great! $259.99!

The JL XR series uses a aluminum tweeter with the neopryene surround, and give fantastic and clear highs without being too bright and harsh, and the mid speakers have decent midbasss. Don't even consider these speakers unless you have a decent external amplifier, you would never get these to sound decent on headunit power.
JL XR Series components, my favorite speakers under $300
