Default My Hondata Problem

Didn't want to make the vid any bigger so I hope you guys can hear at the end the tone of the car changed once again and was normal!

Also, my car DOES NOT make this noise when I use the stock ECU. My car is a 97Integra R with an AEM, testpipe, and a 2pce headgasket and hondata stage 2 on a P28.

Props goes to Jackson So for being my cam. man, Victor So for being my video editor and Ben Yip for use of his webspace and finally my web publisher Paul Wong for hosting on a much faster server! I coudn't have done it without you guys.

http://unsure.where.org/~pwong/pat.mpg

It's a pretty big file, so 56K guys uh.... mmmm.....yeah....

Well when it's cold idle...it just stays rock steady at high idle...but when it is warm fully....the idle might sometimes jump around... sometimes as bad as making me sound like some stunna trying to rev on people....

If you are referring to that hissing sound, unplug your evap solenoid.

Sounds like you have a pretty big vacuum leak.

I'll give that a shot....

Is there a reason why the solenoid makes this sound with Hondata and NOT with the stock ECU?

And about the vac. leak, I really don't think so since the car doesn't make this sound at all right now as I am using the stock ECU.

I've also had the datalogger hooked up to it and the vac. looks pretty healthy as well.

Any other suggestions ideas? hondata?

Cant say for sure, but its something to do with the OBD1 and 2 architechture or something along those lines

The P28 ecu turns on the purge control solenoid at idle; with a type-r manifold, that means a large vacuum leak. On the D16 SOHC engine, the purge vacuum source is ported vacuum coming off of the throttle body, as opposed to the type-r which uses straight intake manifold vacuum. The type-r ecu only allows purge control activation above a certain rpm/manifold pressure (I'm not sure which, I would have to look it up ). The big vacuum hose going to the purge control valve on the firewall is where leak is. Unplug the electrical connection to that valve and see if you still get the symptoms. Or pinch the hose with needlenose pliers. Good luck.
