Minor headgasket leak, ok to go on long trips?
Me and my friends plan on heading up to Reno, NV in a few weeks. My friend is going to do the driving on his 95 Integra LS automatic. Well to get to the point, he has a minor head gasket leak. Nothing major, told me he doesn't need to add oil or anything inbetween oil changes (3000 miles). But I was worry that the car might be put under a lot of stress since it will carrying our Snowboards and other stuff. Will it be safe to drive his car for this trip? It's like 250 miles each way with like 200 miles being like uphill. His car drives fine but I'll worry the stress might from the load and going up hill might...you know...cause a problem..... I don't want to get stuck up in the hills 250 miles away from home......Nice guy to offer to drive but.........
i wouldnt try it,jus fix the headgasket before major problems occur.mite wanna get the head checked while your @ it.
better safe that sorry
