Just like the topic says? Can a turbo honda last on lapping events?Maybe a day of AutoX?What would one do to a turbo setup to make it more compatible?A bottle of water wetter and pray?

Well, turn down the boost for one. Keep an eye on your temps and pull off if you have to. Lots of guys autox with turbos... as long as you can keep traction (LSD) the work pretty well. Not as important as a good suspension setup though. And for autox, the smaller the turbo, the better. Spool time is key.

Yes. If built correctly. Monitor you EGT and A/F ratio. Monitor oil temp and water temp. If anything is out of ordinary, correct problem before engine grenades.

You've got to be sensible. A low boost system with proper tuning should last just fine. A high boost system with improper tuning will not last.

Unless you have the money to develop the motor properly (stand-alone engine management, dyno tuning, laptop, etc) I would advise against it.

go to Warrens website, a turbo miata blow up in front of him @ VIR.

But yeah they can be safe if you run appropriate boost for your intenal mods and you have cooling problems in accordance.

My friends MR2 does just fine at teh road course. He also kills me on the straights

There was a topic on this not too long ago.
Basically, a properly (ie- expensive) aftermarket turbo setup tuned for extended road course work with a big saftey margin will be moderately reliable. Although still not as reliable as running the motor NA as it was originally built to do.
The biggest problem with turbo reliability on track is the people that take 'budget' turboed cars or cars tuned for drag racing to the track. To be reliable a aftermarket turbo car must have the proper engine internals, an upgraded radiator, fuel injectors, fuel pump, adequate intercooling, ECU tuned with proper (safe) fuel ratios, and moderate boost levels. And thats only the engine, the extra power puts a lot more stress on the drivetrain than it was intended to take.

the same applies even when taking a factory forced induction car and turning up the boost, bigger turbo, etc.

Which website is this?Also....do you guys from experience see many turbo'ed hondas on courses at all?Im in this huge debate. My car is an all around machine.Everything from stoplight races,to drag events,to autox,to lapping days. Its a tank.A 95 integra gsr SEDAN.Im in this debate on whether to toss the turbo on or not.But i dont want to sacrifice my favorite purpose of this car.Which are turns......things are starting to point to staying NA....

Two suggestions:

1) Unless you can afford to build a very good turbo setup, and replace your engine from time to time, stay NA.

2) Don't race at stoplights, city roads are for transportation... you want to go fast, go to the track.

After the beating I gave my car at a recent driving school, I would never supercharge or turbo charge it. I put some serious wear on it. I have definitly decided to do an NA build up.

For AutoX, water injection would be a huge bonus. The courses are short enough that you wouldn't have to worry about running out. That can definately help temps.
