Default HID kit for 5th Gen Lude

I am considering buying an HID kit for my car and before i spend my money i was wondering if any of you have had any experience with the HID kits in the 5th gen... What kits are you guys using, and did you have to modify the headlight assembly in any way in order to install them, or were they basically plug and play? Where did you guys get them and for how much? Lastly i would like to know how you guys think they look, are they bright? is it worth the money? I will appreciate any feedback i get from you guys.. thanks guys!

i have the vision hid kit. have had it over a year, pure white like the new mercedes benz, also it is plug and play with no modifications. simple and easy to install in bout 15 min then re aim the headlights. thats bout it.

Just out of curiousity, where did you get the kit, and how much did it set you back?? i am seriously considering getting a kit, just currently shopping around... have you had any problems with the headlight lens hazing over?? i have heard all sorts of stories and i want to hear from people that have had experience with different kits before i jump on one.. thanks again for your input..

I would seriously check their system out. All of the kits are P'n'P, no modifications needed.

I just happened to read this about 2 days ago.. can anyone tell me if it's legit or not? Pretty much I read an article that says about in some states now the HID conversions are illegal unless your headlight assembly is actually setup for HID (since the shape and size has to be different I guess to control where the light goes so you don't blind ppl)... And with the output being more intense with HID, I could understand their point. Can anyone fill me in as I've been thinking about this too for a long while and don't feel like any more tickets or not passing inspection

Make sure that their kit is truly plug and play. Without some sort of modification, most h1 bulbs are too long for the holder in the 5th gen prelude and therefore are NOT just simply plug and play and instead require a lengthening of the holder to support the bulb.

Maybe you should email the company and let us know what they say.

Good idea... i am going to see if i can contact someone and ask them about that.. i did see a picture of their H1 bulb and it did look longer than the factory bulb... so it cant possibly be plug and play... but i will ask them and see whats up and then keep you guys posted..

I think they modify the bulbs themselves and make them shorter. Now they wouldn't be as short as a factory bulb but I think they're short enough to be a true P'n'P kit. Don't take my words to the bank though, just e-mail em.

Peace
