... oil return line -- converting from rubber hose / clamps to steel braided lines / aeroquip fittin
... okay, maybe i am retarded or something... but when i got under the car yesterday and pulled the clamps and hose off just to get an idea of how it was gonna work... it doesnt look like everything is gonna bolt-up... am i missing something or what?... i see the two nipples on the turbo and the oil pan... but what side of the fitting (red or blue) goes to these nipples?... i am guessing the red side, but i havent picked mine up yet, so i am not sure... and if i am right and it is the red side, how does the blue side hook up to the steel braided line?... i saw another pic with it having threads inside the blue side... so how does it screw onto the hose?... do i need another part that goes between the hose and the fitting?... if i do, what is it (pics, part#s)?...
... if you can help, lemme know... and thanks for reading the post and taking the time to school an n00bie...

... what if the bolt (nipple) was not threaded since it was (is) used with just a rubber hose and clamps?...
as far as kit... do you mean turbo?... it is a custom kit with an garret t3... as for ss braided line kit... i dont have one... i was gonna piece it together at the local aeroquip dealer...

you can buy a flange that can be threaded, or just use the current one and cut off the part that the rubber hose connects to and weld on a steel bolt.

Compliments of gsrgrrrl:
I used the following.
1XEarls PN#804610 -10AN 45 Degree swivel seal Adapter
2XEarls PN#981610 -10AN to 1/2" NPT Adapter
1XEarls PN#809110 -10AN 90 Degree swivel seal Adapter
And Approximatly 1 foot of Earls -10AN Perform-o-flex hose.

... last question... (and thanks for all everyone's superfast responses)
... how do i connect the -10AN to 1/2" NPT Adapter to two nipples on the turbo and the oil pan?... do i still have to get them threaded?... thanks again...

I take it you haven't made a SS line with AN fittings?
You aren't going to use those nipples anymore on the pan and on the turbo.............you need to have a -10AN steel adapter welded to you pan and get an aluminum AN adapter to screw onto the turbo in place of the nipple. The AN hose end that you showed in the picture will screw into these new fittings. That red part of the hose end you showed comes apart and the one piece slips over the SS line, then you screw the other part of the hose end on it.......part of it will go into the hose when you do this and clamp the hose between the fitting.

Those earls fitting are awful expensive. Wouldn't it be acceptable to just use brass NPT to barbed adapters, with rubber oil lines held onto the barbed ends with hose clamps? The oil pressure never gets past 100psi, and these brass fittings and rubber hoses are rated to much higher pressures.
Yeah, you could........ the SS lines let you get better angles around your downpipe and it keeps the shape you put it in, looks better and will probably last longer than rubber hoses........it's all personal I guess.
