Any valve adjustment tips?
Doing my f22's valves this weekend, anyone got any tips or whatnot?
This is the sohc vtec (f22b1 I think) by the way.
I got metric feeler gauges and all the tools of course (having right tools is good).

Cool, definately taking my time... I dont wanna hurt my ride being lazy and non motivated like some.
I think it is about time with my occational trips to redline and aggresive driving.
Only put a couple thousand miles on it in almost 2 years so... at like 80k now and soon to get a bit more stress.

Are there any tricks you guys use when dealing with the valve cover seal? Obviously dont pry it off with a screwdriver, but it seems like it's hard to get the thing back on without it leaking.

Heres my tips on the valve cover gasket, and not everyone might agree... but its worked great for me.
Dab some black hightemp rtv on the cam endcap corners. Also dont even waste your time on those little rubber donuts on the sparkplug holes. Just RTV a nice bead on the valvecover recess where they would be. Takes a couple minutes to clean up when you adjust valves again, but since ive started doing that 2 years ago i have not had ONE DROP of oil in the holes.

certain areas of the the gasket i mean
Need the sealer on either side of the cam at the corners on both sides (distributor and gear side). The gasket is a little flatter there.
BTW dont drop your feeler gauge and spend an hour looking for it. I ended up having to buy a new set last time I adjusted mine.

Heres a tip. Better loose then tight. If the Feeler guage is tight, your too tight. You want a little bit of tug on it. Too tight of a valve can result in burnt valves.
