Lightened flywheel, any down side in racing?
I destroyed my clutch at a recent Solo 1 and I'm considering buying a lightened OEM flywheel to replace the stock one. It wouldn't cost me much more than resurfacing my old flywheel. Will I see a nice improvement in throttle response? What about acceleration? I have the SOHC 1.5, so I figure every little bit helps. Also, are there any down sides? The car is for Solo 1 and road race with occasional road use. Thanks.

So far I don't. I don't think my bent-bar cage is SCCA legal and, as far as I know, the 92 hp DX is not even classified for IT. Only the 70 hp and Si.
Your DX is classed in ITA. So is mine.
Have your OE flywheel "balanced". IT says you can balance the OE flywheel and any weight reduction as a result of balancing is approved. Mine is "balanced".
~edit~ I see you have a 4th gen Civic. I still believe it's a ITA car.
