stock flywheel lightening
somebody offered me to get my flywheel lightened for $125 before I go and get my jdm d15b swap
i think it'll be 9lbs or so shaved from the stock flywheel
i have a few questions:
a) should I do it? seems like a good price
b) i currently am going to run the engine stock except an intake (for awhile until cash comes along) will this hurt or up my performance or effiency?
c) is it okay to perform flywheel lightening on a stock flywheel, specificly a 180km 92 Si flywheel??

Re: stock flywheel lightening (killerboots)
good price, but it wont be as strong as a racing flywheel. just dont use with a heavy duty clutch then you should be okay. i had my stock flywheel lightened on my hatch, and i regret it. better to go buy a high performance clutch and flywheel setup. imo.

Re: stock flywheel lightening (FlatlineLemon)
I had my OEM fly shaved down to 13 lbs. No problems. It is suggested though that you dont go below 13 lbs on your stock flywheel.

Re: stock flywheel lightening (nema741)
Honestly I didn't really feel a significant difference with my stock fly shaved down to 13 lbs. Maybe timeslips will be able to prove a difference. I never timed the car before the lightening so its hard to say.

Re: stock flywheel lightening (eh3 93)
will i notice a significant difference between the stock one and shaved one?
because i have the option of either shaving my flywheel, or picking up parts for my suspension setup (H&R Sport Springs).. which will suit me better in the long run?
