I did a search and found nothing on how often this comes on. There was one post that stated every 15000 miles but this is impossible!? I know I've seen it come on earlier than that! I know how to turn it off. I was just wondering if there is a defined interval. I'm at 498XX

 

It seems to me that it comes on at every 7,500 miles.

 

It usually comes on, flashes, then turns off when you turn the ignition on a little before 15k so that you know a major service is coming up.

Does the light come on for anything besides oil changes? I just changed my oil and the little ****** came on last week.

 

I thought it came on at preset mileage intervals to make people freak out and take their cars to the dealer where they'll get raped with high prices.

 

ok...just checking. I was pretty sure that was it although my alignment seems a little funny now.
