anyone know of any good quiet universal mufflers?? thanks..

Universal mufflers are rice. Apexi N-1 is actually probably the loudest. Try and get the biggest you can find, preferably the oval design.

 

I'd thing the Apex-i N1 would be pretty loud too... not sure which universal ones are quiet.. the ones i've heard (flowmaster, dynomax, 5zigen fireball or maybe it wsa canonball, apexi N1) weren't that quiet IMO... some people even say my Greddy Evo is loud.. why don't you try getting an ITR muffler?

 

my friends HKS exhaust for his gsr is very quiet.... much quieter than my POS racing medallion STYLE muffler that i'm going to throw away soon..

 

how about the ES oval? is that load at all?

 

I'm really starting to like the idea of a magnaflow on a honda, my friend has a 3" custom setup with a magnaflow on his turbo Si and it has a good tone to it. I'm going to do a 2.5" system for my integra with a magnaflow canister and a dynomax bullet as a resonator in the B pipe.

Find a good muffler shop and they should be able to help. Whatever you decide to do research it before you drop the cash.

 

Do what GSRaCeRbOI said and go for the ITR axel-back (or full cat-back). I just had the axel-back put onto my teg and I love everything about it. I looks great, sounds good (definately quiet), and it still performs.

 

got an 2.5 superturbo muffler with resanator custom cat back, it is pretty quite, but i did set off a couple of alarms, my guess is that it is deep.

 

magnaflow all the way for a nice quiet exhaust. i have a magnaflow cat back on my 2001 civic and it rocks! it is perfect for me and just what i was looking for...nice mellow tone and never gets that ricey bumble bee sound or gets loud

 

Is the axel back Type R exhaust a direct bolt on and is it noticebly louder than the stock muffler? I'd like to hear some vroom. Thanks!
