Default Help me analyse my dyno plot - 1st gen. B16a

Stock cams with i/h/e, 62mm TB, fuel pressure regulator and Field SFC tuning.

Torque: 567/drive ratio: 4.9 = 115.7ft/lbs@7389rpm

I want to get the power curve more linear. How do I get rid of that dip at 5000rpm? Vtec point is set to 5400rpm.

TIA

maybe set the VTEC x-over at 5600rpm........they should remove the dip........

other than that i guess it looks good for a B16 with those mods........

I tuned it myself, vtec point is set to 5400rpm on the Field unit. Here are the other first few runs for comparison. The light blue line is the final run.

A/F ratio graph. Aimed for 13.1-13.5 = lambda 0.89-.92.

Sorry for the crappy picture quality.

nice peak whp numbers for a B16 with stock cams, no doubt.
when I see the 100whp/tq at 5252rpm I can tell this thing was
tuned for max power. if you choose to you can upgrade your cams
I would say to the Skunk2 stage 1 bypassing the CTR/ITR combo
since you have I,H,E. Anything larger on a 1.6L would require you
to raise compression. If you wanted to, a thinner gasket and ITR
valvesprings with Skunk Ti retainers would help you get there on the
1s and make good midrange power. I would reccomend staying on
the low cam until 5500 and let the VTEC POP with your single stage
intake manifold. Your motor acclerates well from 0-4750 or so and
then lags until 5800 when your manifolds make power. With the
later VTEC, you can tune the low cam to make power until a higher
more definate VTEC engagement brings in HIGH end power... with
253/249 11.8/10.9cams you will see at least 12-15 once you tune
fuel with your engine combination on .3-5 raised compression on
a B16a2. IMO... this will work great, cost about 1250 out the door
if you can pull the head yourself and reinstall cams and everything
properly

Thanks for your post Mike. I have already bought CTR cams and R valve springs. Waiting on some ti retainers then the head comes off. I think it's already maxed out with bolt-ons... time to move on

no doubt. post some dynos when you tune the car man... I wanna
see you hit 185/130! also, since you have a B16 try and get
your hot little hands on an ITR intake manifold it will help you out
alot and since you are already use to the single stage, all you will
feel is a gain CTRs are great, I suggested the skunk1s but you will
have fun with them... sk1s are just a bit more agressive. might as
well work on raising compression next... your cams I have seen
dynos in the 180s with 130s tq easy. there is a guy here in orlando
I know that has an ITR block with GSR head and CTR cams with
stock ITR valvetrain, sk2 intake, aem/dc/greddy,sk2computer
made mid 180s/130s in a hatch hybrid. fun car no doubt!

his buddy who has the same exact setup but with sk2s1 cams and
he was hitting low 190s/135+ so... raise compression and
then do sk2s2 down the road...
