Default vx performance questions

Got some questions I need answered. Just bought a stock '92 VX hatchback. Plan to use the car for track racing, so my mods are limited. Any help is appreciated.

1. Final Drive. I can change this, but not the gears. The VX comes with a 3.2 FD I believe. The 92-95 EX/SI comes with a 4.2 FD. Any problems with this swap? Anyone know exactly what parts I would need to complete this?

2. ECU. Thinking about a EX/SI P28. Gives me 200+ rpms and a bit more aggressives maps over the fuel-conscience VX maps. Anyone done this mod?

3. Header. Anyone know of a good header for the D15?

the VTEC-E motor is not setup to run the higher rpms that you would be in with the EX/Si tranny.

Swap in a D16Z6 motor/tranny then start planning.

Yeah unless your dead set on keeping the VX enigne don't mess with it too much.

I did a few things to mine just playing with it that seemed to help driveablity a bit, I put a 92-95 Si intake tube on which actually helped the top end a little (even with the 1 inch TB).
I also have a jdm vtec-e complete intake manifold with bigger runners and a normal size TB with slightly larger injectors that makes a bit more power. I just don't want to waste my time on the vx motor though so i'm not gonna install it. If you are interested I can sell it to you cheap though.
Like mista bone said get the sohc vtec swap, in a light vx you can see low 15's easy. In my 92 dx I saw 15.2 with a $500 93 d16z6 swap.

Ok...let me clarify. Plans for the car are to be a H5 spec Honda-Challenge track *****. Rules state that the engine must remain OE, use an OE Honda computer, and I can change FD but no gears. I have a bare GSR block and ITR head in my garage, but I don't have cash to finish the project for now. Point is...I wanna race cheap for now. With that in mind...fire away.

He is track racing so I believe his mods are very limited, this should include not being able to swap motor's and what not, I doubt you can swap intake manifolds.

swap the head to the D16z6 and keep the valve cover (VTEC-E rocks ), this way you're creating a JDM D15B SOHC VTEC (rated at 130ps)

as far as tranny get a Si/EX D16z6 or at least DX tranny (no one can tell a difference since the case all the number are identical - of course unless you are Mista Bone)
