Default D16Z6 - Oil leaking problem! HELP w/ any advice!

Well, heres the current condition of the engine

-Purchased with car back in November '06 w/ 170,xxx on chassis and 80,xxx on engine.
-Replaced the oil bolt with magnetic oil bolt (feels like i stripped the threads - possible leak coming from the oil bolt area - This is known already)
- Replaced the oil pan gasket twice and sealing the crankshaft ends w/ sealer. (Hondabond or Permatex - used both and work like a charm)

Still leaking especially from the driver's side. When making a hard turn right, I can smell the oil after a long drive.

Now for the pictures..

Thanks in advance,
Jon

there is a crank seal there, one on the other end of the block too. You would have to take off the timing belt to get to it. I would get some brake cleaner, and clean up everything, and then pinpoint where it's leaking, because you have oil everywhere.

edit :
make sure you are following a criss cross when puttting on the oil pan bolts, and not tightening them all the way the first time either.

Make sure you don't torque the oil pan bolts/nuts more than 9-10 lbs.

yeah i hand tighten the oil bolts since my torque wrench doesnt go that low. However, on the criss cross pattern does it go like this (just an example)

3 4 1 5 2
2 5 1 4 3

?

it'd be the same as putting on a head. Center out. And just snug them all to a consistent point and then tighten them up, not a lot though. I'd still clean it all up and see where the oil is coming from, could still be an issue with pan and not the crank seal.

^Yep, sounds like an improper torque sequence. But after my initial pan gasket install, I had bolt/nuts become slightly loose again and had to re-hand tighten them after week.

So, clean off the pan. Re-install another new gasket with sealer in the usual areas. Install via the given torque sequence. Drive for a week and inspect for leaks. Get under there and re-torque again in the given sequence.

Good luck! and hope that's not a crank seal.
