rhd firewall swap question.........
I just got my ef9 front clip and was wondering what the name of the special spotweld drillbit was. I know this isnot the body forum but they never help, all them eg guys, LOL. My buddy told me there's a bit that u use for drilling out the thousand's of spotwelds.
Not going to post pic's untill she's all done in 3 years, lol. I'm going to save hondatech a slot instead of another "hears my build thread" LOL jk
Help would be greatful

hey man
im just finishing off my rebuilt after a did the firewall conversion. I used the spot weld drill bits, i found them to be more of a headache than a regular drill bit.
the teeth on the bits would break, they would wear easily, and many times I wouldn't be able to even tell if they has cut out the spot weld correctly.
What I ended up doing is taking a small drive bit, maybe 1/4 in and pre-drilling ALL spot welds. Once I made sure ALL spot welds had a pre hole, i went back and drilled them again with a larger bit, enough to eliminate the spot weld.
All you do is fill in the hole when you weld it back up. I believe it will save you time and headaches.
if you need any other advice I can help
