Default Q: RSX Cluster in a 96 EK?

I've been searching the forums here, and found 4 links for such a procedure. I just put a b18c5 in a civic, and need a sexy cluster with it, since mine doesn't even have a tach lol. RSX clusters are easy to come across, and kinda cheap on eBay too.

Please don't blast me about googling and such, I'm not afraid to read links, but most links I follow are non-existant anymore, and/or a fake link to eBay somewhere.

I am wondering: How to wire and RSX Cluster, into my 96' Civic.
Specs of Car:
B18C5 and computers.
Converted to OBD1.
96 Hatch.

There's a great topic here on the install, but it's dead in 04'. And they got stuck at the part with the multiplex, controlling the Temp. gauge and such.

I'm curious to know myself, I wouldn't mind having an rsx-s cluster.

I think I remember seeing this once, but it was in a eg and he had converted to everything rsx interior wise. Rsx cluster is actually pretty ugly and wouldn't flow right with the design of the eg/ek dashes imo.

I purchased a 05 rs-x cluster and was going to put it in my 99 EK. I just picked up a new dash and its sitting in my living room. The shape of the cluster looked so much like the hole in the dashboard but with the bezel on, the rs-x cluster DOES NOT FIT in the 96-00 civic dashboards.

If you take the bezel off you can get it inside the cluster compartment, but again its too wide unless you really force it in there. It'll sit upright, but i dont think it'll look good, or maybe i'm just really picky with fit and finish.

I'm guessing it'll fit in a gs-r a little better since those clusters are wider. Or and EG maybe.

Thanks a lot for the heads up on the fit... But like most men, I'm stubborn as hell! lol I do like the look of the RSX cluster, but your comments on the deepness of the install makes sense (even if that sentence didn't). I'm 6'0" so if the cluster sits low in the dash board, that's okay with me, maybe not so well for the wife at 5'6"... But we'll see. If we can keep this topic bumped up

Another problem with that cluster is that I think it works on the same signal as a s2k cluster so a converter box would have to be used. I'm not sure that its like this but I'm assuming.

As already mentioned, the swap is complicated, requiring lots of wire and a converter as well as its looks for information for the oem rsx ecu as well, its a big job and not worth it IMO. I have an rsx also, which is nice, but that's where that cluster belongs.
Anything can be done however, but it'll probably cost you a few hundred bucks and a lot lot of your time.

That EK was completly swapped to an EP3, electrically speaking.

He has the interior wirings of an EP, easier that way.

EK cluster is pretty good, IMO. EK4 is the best one, not having that blue marks on the speedo.
