Their not all horrible, but often the cheap kits you find on there consist of poorly made materials that will not last nearly as long as a name-brand kit would. Specifically the turbo manifold and turbo themselves are the largest complaints. Places such as D-series.org, turboD.com or even the Forced induction thread here on HT will contain info about the generic Ebay Brand kits.

If you really want, you can piece togather a turbokit from mixing ebay brands with quality name-brands. A simple example would be using like a name-brand turbo and manifold along with an ebay Intercooler kit. Thats just one example of such a build. Find more info about piecing a kit togather from here:

usually the turbos siece, wastegates dont open and you overboost or have boost creep and your motor blows up. poorly made manifolds crack and sometimes the turbo falls apart and parts go into your motor.

my last ss autochrome manifold cracked and then completely fell off, wasn't horrible while it lasted but not worth the time to replace. Just get it right the first time

I think Im gonna take the eBay turbo kit ... keep some pieces from it. .... hang the turbo on my wall .... and upgrade the turbo and manifold.

Anyone see the new Full Race setup at SEMA?
