Default Ebay Turbo kits?

I have been seeing these Turbo kits on ebay and I have done a little research with people who have purchased them from sellers like ETD motors, boombop, and discountzoomparts. All the buyers that replied told me they had no problems with the kits. Some said they have to change the timer and blow valve but most were happy with their purchase.

So what do you think? Should someone consider buying these Turbo kits? Would you buy them? Why are the name brands better?

So whats the difference. If someone knows how to build a turbo kit, they know how. Why pay more for the name brands?

name brands do quality work. each turbo and part is inspected thats why they have warranties. ebay turbo kits are produced in bulk with less than ideal materials. thats why they are so cheap.

It's the quality of the product..like the internals of a china turbo compared to the internals of a Garrett for instance. Betcha chinatown will fail before the "name brand one"

It has nothing to do with installing the the kit on your car or piecing together a kit, Like BOOSTEd2 said it is mass produced crap they are not worried about quality, all there about is quanity getting sold

i have personally used the ebay turbo kits and they always held up fine all the way through untill i ended up selling the car..

From my experience there kits are good. The only thing i do not like to use is there tubular chrome manifolds, they hold up good and everything but after a while they tend to crack
what i did was i brought it to a welding shop and got all the welds re welded and made extra brackets for support and it held up perfect after that

as for their intercooler kits, they are good and hold alot of pressure..alot of my buddys use ssautochrome and xspowers fmic and they dont give one problem..

so to sum it all up its really up to you if you want to spend your money on this kit or not

Turbos fail, manifolds crack, some pieces in the kit are servicable and some pieces work well, but you could just buy those parts individually and save money.

I've been through this **** a bunch.

The T70 = Failure. Avoid them.

Most of the T3/T04E clones hold together pretty well at lower power levels but spin themself apart if you try to get 400+ whp out of them. The still experience a 10% failure rate fresh off the assembly line, and I saw the first one of that series die the other night in a generic 250-270 whp stock MAP sensor build... as in it held together for a few days (which usually means they are fine low boost turbos) and then started pissing oil out the compressor and turbine just like they all do when you crank the boost 13+ psi.

I have zero experience with the CDM clones of the T25, T3, 16G, etc, but if I ever do I am more than happy to give you my unbiased opinion of them.

$600-ish for an new OEM quality T3/T04E that makes an assload of power and lasts for about ******* ever? Worth every penny.

Friend of mine built his entire setup with ssac stuff and I have to say everything has held up very well... been in his car for a while too. Think I saw a 12.3 out of it

But let me point out it was not a bolt on kit. No IC piping or anything like that.

I think alot of it depends on how you use it. I have known few that broke... and many that are still on the road

i have a ebay turbo on my h22 accord right now, its actually held up good....solid boost (xs power wastegate-even though i was told it was tial). i actually bought the car with all this, and i plan on upgrading the wastegate and turbo in the near future...but the turbo has been on the car for over a year and no problem. the manifold is already upgraded, as well as the bov. the turbo hasnt failed, but i still want to upgrade for some peace of mind.

Dont do IT. The crappy manifold wont even allow my Real tial wastegate to regulate boost at 10psi and its a 6lb spring. Search and youll find my story.

I swear people from ebay r on these sites to encourage people. **** is crap and theres tons of fake merchandise posted on ebay.
